Sustainability at The Headland

Aligned with Sustainable Development Goal 11, Sustainable Cities and Communities, The Headland places the community at its core.

In 2019, we established The Headland Grant, a fund supported through optional donations from our hotel guests during checkout and contributions from team-led and community fundraising events. This grant is available to local groups and organisations, providing vital funding for initiatives that positively impact our community.

Past recipients of The Headland Grant include Cornwall United FC, Newquay Orchard, DISC, Newquay Foodbank, Newquay Youth Club, and Oasis House, all of whom have benefitted from our commitment to fostering local growth and resilience.

Beyond the grant, we actively support the community through reduced room hire for local charities, enabling them to channel resources where needed most. We are also committed to inspiring the next generation. This includes offering paid summer placements for 14–15-year-olds, internship schemes for individuals with Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs), and regularly visiting schools and colleges to encourage careers in hospitality.
