Reece

Meet The Team

Two years ago, Reece embarked on a new chapter of his life by joining The Headland as a Food & Beverage attendant. Balancing part-time work mainly on weekends with his other commitments, Reece was navigating the challenging transition of leaving school and starting college. Like many young adults, he was in the process of figuring out where he wanted to go in life.

Despite the initial uncertainties, Reece quickly realised that he had a genuine passion for hospitality. His enthusiasm and dedication did not go unnoticed. In just a short time, Reece's hard work paid off, and he earned a promotion to Food & Beverage Supervisor. This role allowed him to take on more responsibilities and further develop his skills in the bustling environment of The Headland.

However, Reece's ambitions didn't stop there. After twelve months in his supervisory role, he found himself eager to gain a deeper understanding of how the hotel operated as a whole. He wanted to expand his knowledge and experience beyond the restaurant and see the bigger picture of hotel management.

This drive for comprehensive learning led Reece to apply for the student placement scheme at The Headland. This unique program is designed to provide students with a holistic experience of hotel operations, offering a glimpse into all aspects of running a prestigious establishment like The Headland. Through this scheme, students have the opportunity to rotate through various departments, learning the intricacies of each and gaining invaluable hands-on experience.

For Reece, this was the perfect opportunity to broaden his horizons and build a solid foundation for his future career. The ultimate aim of the student placement scheme is to prepare participants for advanced roles within the hotel, such as that of a Duty Manager. Reece's journey through this program reflects his commitment to personal growth and his determination to climb the career ladder in hospitality.

As he continues to work tirelessly and immerse himself in different departments of the hotel, Reece's story serves as an inspiring example of how passion, hard work, and a willingness to learn can pave the way for a very successful future in the hospitality industry. His experience at The Headland is not just a job, but a stepping stone towards achieving his dreams and aspirations.
