November 2024
Headland Highlights
November at The Headland was a truly memorable month, filled with celebrations, creativity, and the warm anticipation of the festive season. From the launch of our 125-year anniversary to inspiring events and magical Christmas preparations, it was a time to reflect on our rich history and embrace the joy of community.
Celebrating 125 Years of The Headland
Last month, we introduced our 125-Year Celebrations for 2025 with a special 125-year stay offer, marking a monumental milestone in our history. Since 1900, The Headland has welcomed guests from around the world, standing as a symbol of timeless elegance on Cornwall’s coast.
“It’s been wonderful to reflect on the generations of people who have made The Headland what it is today,” said the family directors. “November’s launch was the perfect start to what lies ahead in 2025, a year of celebrations.”
A Creative November with Andy Pearce and Be Newquay
As part of our partnership with the Be Newquay Festival, we welcomed local artist Andy Pearce as our Artist in Residence. Throughout the month, guests had the opportunity to watch Andy bring Cornwall’s breathtaking landscapes to life on canvas.
Andy’s live painting sessions and inspiring artwork, available to purchase, celebrated the natural beauty that surrounds The Headland. This collaboration allowed us to connect with the local creative community and share their incredible talent with our guests.
“It was a joy to showcase my work in such an iconic location,” Andy shared. “The Headland has such an inspiring presence—it was a privilege to be part of its story.”
Prestigious awards for The Spa
Guests voted in the thousands to choose their favourite spas from across the UK. The Spa at The Headland were crowned 'Best of the South West' at The Good Spa Guide's 15th annual Awards. A fantastic accolade for the team who deliver the five-bubble luxury experience our guests have come to know and love.
Gavin Supports the Culinary Stars of Tomorrow
In November, our Executive Chef, Gavin took centre stage as one of the judges for the Newquay Rotary Club Young Chef Awards and Springboard FutureChef Awards. These competitions showcased some of the brightest emerging talents in the Cornish culinary world, with participants demonstrating incredible skill, creativity, and passion.
“It was an honour to support the next generation of chefs and see their enthusiasm for food,” Gavin said. “The level of talent we saw was extraordinary, and it gives me great hope for the future of the industry.”
A huge congratulations to all participants and winners for their inspiring efforts and accomplishments!
Decking the Halls with The Thursday Club
As the festive season approached, The Headland was transformed into a winter wonderland thanks to the incredible creativity of The Thursday Club ladies. Their beautiful decorations brought the magic of Christmas to life, with twinkling lights, stunning Christmas trees, and cosy, festive touches throughout the hotel.
Seasonal Delights and Festive Preparations
Behind the scenes, preparations for December’s festive events were in full swing. From luxurious Christmas stays to elegant New Year’s Eve celebrations, November marked the beginning of what promises to be a magical holiday season at The Headland.
