Christmas Transformation Brings Festive Joy to All
The Headland is being transformed into a winter wonderland with the help of local community group The Thursday Club.
Taking 3 days to decorate the historic Grade II listed hotel, every staircase, mantel piece and window is adorned in festive fixings delighting local visitors and staying guests.
Maggie Biddle, President of The Thursday Club, previously worked as a receptionist at the 5-star hotel and now leads the Christmas decoration undertaking. She said: “It’s a great opportunity to get together, brighten up the space and bring festive joy to so many people.”
Each year The Thursday Club choose a local charity to fundraise for and their fees for decorating The Headland are donated to the cause.
The ladies social club originally met through Newquay Methodist Church and have been decorating The Headland for the past 9 years.
People can explore The Headland and enjoy the Christmas decorations during a winter stay, spa visit or festive afternoon tea from 14th November. The festive lunch menu will be live on The Terrace from 1st December.
““We think it is really important for the local community to get together this Christmas with many people experiencing a slightly different version of the festive season last year.” - Veryan Palmer”
